Types of heavy duty roller conveyor
Heavy duty roller conveyors are a type of roller conveyor, often used in horizontal or slightly upward sloping conveying lines. The drive unit transmits power to the roller, which rotates and conveys the goods by means of friction between the roller surface and the surface of the goods to be conveyed. There are individual drives and group drives according to the driving method. In the former case, each roller is equipped with a separate drive for easy dismantling. In the latter case, a number of rollers are driven as a group by a single drive unit in order to reduce the cost of the equipment. The group drives are driven by gears, chains and belts. Powered roller conveyors are generally driven by AC motors, but can also be driven by two-speed motors and hydraulic motors as required.
